About
I build the tools that make live experiences in Africa easier to run and better to attend.
I'm the co-founder and CEO of Tix, the self-service ticketing and event platform powering live experiences across Africa and its diaspora. Since we launched in 2019, Tix has grown to serve more than 50,000 event organisers and over a million ticket buyers across Nigeria, Ghana and the UK, from concerts and conferences to live podcasts and festivals.
I didn't set out to build event technology. In 2014 I co-founded Eat.Drink.Lagos, a food blog that became the city's go-to dining guide. A year later I launched EatDrinkFestival, one of Lagos's first food festivals and a launchpad for new food businesses. Running the festival showed me how broken ticketing and event operations were, so we built the tool we needed. That tool became Tix.
What I care about most is execution: shipping products that people actually use. After years of building Tix for organisers, we turned to the people buying the tickets and launched Orbit, an app that helps them find the best events in their city. Tix is backed by angel investors and the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund, and won NBA Africa's inaugural Triple-Double Accelerator.
Before Tix, I worked at Andela, Valu Alliance Asset Management Ltd (African Capital Alliance Group), and Airtel Nigeria. I studied Sociology and French at the University of Virginia.
Off the clock, I'm probably making coffee or matcha, cooking something new, or finding small things that make everyday life more convenient.
